Dermisho Utility and Farm Management Application (DUFMA), is a peer to peer integrated agricultural service startup platform providing farm advisory services, a farm management system and a training centre. Created in 2018, DUFMA connects farmers to service providers and micro investors and in the last two years, the team of agriculturists has managed 3 farms, had over 500 consultations and trained over 1000 persons both online and onsite. Their core objective is to improve agricultural processes through precision farming. The team were inspired to create their organisation after realising the enormous gap between what they are taught in academia and agriculture in reality. DUFMA is aiming to create the biggest agricultural stakeholders' database in the next 5 years in West Africa, enabling registered agricultural stakeholders to easily verify each other. The organisation strives to improve security of investment within the sector and foster intra sector business partnership and productivity through the transfer of quality information. DUFMA are passionate about changing the way agriculture is done, to make it more of a viable living for small farmers. They believe that technology is key to changing the way things are done and key to scaling within the sector.
Co-founder, Olayinka Adelugba said: “The world is changing but we all still need to eat. How well we eat and how quickly we can get food to the tables of families really matters. We want to make the processes in agriculture better because it’s so important to us all. Your vote really matters to us! Thank you.”
