Shamim Kaliisa started Chil AI Lab in 2017 after losing her mum at the age of 13 to cancer and battling breast cancer herself when she was barely into her 20s. Dermisho Utility and Farm Management Application (DUFMA), is a peer to peer integrated agricultural service startup platform providing farm advisory services, a farm management system and a training centre. Created in 2018, DUFMA connects farmers to service providers and micro investors and in the last two years, the team of agriculturists has managed 3 farms, had over 500 consultations and trained over 1000 persons both online and onsite. StanLab is a 3D virtual laboratory application designed for students to learn and practise science experiments hands-on and in real-time. The inspiration behind its creation is the sheer lack of access to quality lab equipment for children who attend public secondary schools in Nigeria. Without the opportunity to practice experiments during lessons, children often have to imagine what the experiments would look like, rather than finding out for themselves. |
